Enjoy a very special summer festival in Dalkey!

The Dalkey Book festival which was started in 2010 by Sian Smyth and David McWilliams takes place in June every year.

With famous literary names associated with Dalkey such as George Bernard Shaw, James Joyce and Samuel Beckett, Neil Jordan and Jim Sheridan – it’s an ideal location for a book festival!

People flock to the lovely town of Dalkey for the gorgeous architecture built into the sheer landscape, the stunning views and for the cosy village atmosphere.

The festival takes place in pubs, cafes, schools and the local town hall as well as the medieval graveyard, the secret garden marquee and the Masonic Lodge!

Line-up for the 2016 festival included Michael Gambon, Malcolm Gladwell, Bob Geldof, Brian Eno, Elif Shafak, Dr.Dambisa Moyo so we can’t wait to find out the line-up for 2017!

These travel tips will help you get the best possible taxi service from Dalkey Taxis this festive season.

1. Give yourself plenty of time
Our busiest times over the next few weeks will be 8AM – 9AM & 5PM – 8PM. So if you are booking around this time, please give yourself plenty of time as the traffic around town will be extremely busy!

2. If you need to prebook – prebook early
Prebook demand is huge – and availability is limited. If your preferred pick-up time is unavailable try selecting a time slot 5 or 10 minutes beforehand.

3. Please be patient
It’s tough being a taxi driver in December as traffic is horrendous. Your wait time may be a bit longer than usual but your Dalkey Taxi driver will get to you as soon as they can.

DALKEY AND NRC TAXIS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Dalkey Taxis is delighted to announce that we are now partnering with NRC Taxis.

NRC Taxis are an established taxi firm with 500 drivers and have been providing taxi services to the people of Dublin since 1957. Dalkey Taxis boast a large fleet drivers and service the areas of Dalkey, Cabinteely, Glenageary, Glasthule, Shankill, Leopardstown & Cherrywood and surrounding areas.

Under the new partnership arrangement Dalkey Taxis will remain as an independent fleet. The NRC call centre will manage and dispatch all calls.

Our new partnership with NRC Taxis offers Dalkey Taxi customers additional advantages including:

The latest in-car technology with full traceability using GPS in our vehicles
In-car chip and pin machines in all vehicles
Online booking facility for customers offering a range of payment facilities

NEW WEBSITE FOR DALKEY TAXIS LAUNCHED

Dalkey Taxis have gone online with a custom designed and fully mobile responsive website.

Now you are never more than a click away with our all new mobile responsive website at your fingertips…

Following on from the recent partnership between Dalkey Taxis and NRC Taxis we have launched a brand new website for Dalkey Taxis.

It has been designed solely with you our customers in mind. No matter what device you view it on, it loads fast as lightning thanks to the latest software. Plus the page adjusts the content so it is easy to read on tablets and smart phones.

On every page there are buttons to call us or book online immediately visible on load. This means you don’t have to even scroll down or type our number into your dialpad. Just click to call or book and we will whisk you away before you can even hang up!

The website was project managed and wording written by our marketeer Aideen McGinn.
The design and development was by Denis McCaul of Go Online Web Design in Blackrock.
